Journey

A journey starts
With a single step
Said a Buddhist sage
Most wisely
I thought this proverb
Through once more
As on I pulled and
Laced my boots.
I stood and took
One last deep breath
And took that single step
I don’t know where
This journey leads
Or who I’ll meet
Along the way
I do not know what
Trials I’ll face
Or when the journeys
End will come
I only know
One thing for sure
As one foot follows
The other
I only know
One thing for sure
At least
I am still
Walking.

Thank you to Lulu’s Lines for inspiration.

Hi Neol,
Just popping in to wish you a Happy Halloween week-end. Gosh I miss England for Guy Fawkes Night. I noticed you are from Kent. I lived in Tunbridge Wells for a long time, my son was born in Pembury. Small world, where in Kent are you? I must say I miss the Gardens of England. I bet you the Pantiles in TW must be even better now.

Thank You Lulu, Happy Halloween to you and yours too.

I'm in Orpington in Kent but I know Tunbridge Wells really well. My sister went to school in Sevenoaks and hung around in Tonbridge and while I was living at home I used TW as a bolthole and stayed there in hotels and used it as a base to explore the rest of the kent countryside. Scotney Castle is my fave ever castle...

Fireworks night is awesome, I may be getting on lol but nothing beats a cold 5th of November's night with the all the bonfires and the smell of gunpowder and pyrite in the air.

Take care and thank you again.

Hi Neol,
How small the world is! I dont know Orpington that well but my God-Father used to live there. I dont know now if he is still alive. Funny you should mention Sevenoaks, I used to work there and lived there for a while, I think it was the London Road, all I remember it was a very steep hill on the walk back from wherever I went. I seem to remember the High Street ran adjacent to it. Was always running into Gloria Hunniford too, she was a nice lady, I was so saddened to hear about the passing away of her daughter. I also had a few friends who lived in Tonbridge.

Enjoy Halloween and more importantly the 5th November.
Nice to hear from you.
