Clouds

Clouds
Rain Clouds,
Harbingers of troubled times
Soft clouds, pastel coloured
Drifting in cobalt skies
Heavy, pregnant, feculent,
Storm clouds,
Pressing down on me
Crushing my soul
Cotton wool clouds
In a sky we used to share

Each of these clouds
Has a silver lining
It’s said

I wish to scrape some off
And keep it

I only have small pockets
I only have small dreams
I only want a little

Of that silver lining

Clouds
Contrails to a distant lands
Drift in the wake of holidays
High, misty clouds
Obscuring the stars
We used to share
Small fast clouds
Racing in the wind
Immense winter clouds
From horizon to horizon
Smother me

If there be a king of clouds
Grant me one small wish
Some silver lining please

My prayers to God
They do not work

“My dreams are small…
I’m incomplete and
Unfulfilled.”

Some silver lining

I need some now
Thank you to Lulu's Lines for inspiration

Take care
